On Nov. 15, Pushing the Envelope completed its 11th Annual CAN IT! Campaign, a food drive dedicated to helping those in need in Southwest Florida. The campaign collected 5,044 non-perishable food items for Community Cooperative (CCI) in just one month, surpassing previous campaign results and doubling this year’s 2,500-item goal. Collectively, the items weighed in at 3,351 pounds!
Devoted to providing food for those less fortunate in the area, more than 20 Southwest Florida businesses and organizations partnered with Pushing the Envelope as drop-off locations to collect donations. The full list of participating drop-off locations can be found at https://www.getpushing.com/community/can-it/.
Since its inception in 2010, the CAN IT! Campaign food drive has collected thousands of items for CCI, resulting in more than 19,700 pounds of donated food.
“The CAN IT! Campaign started because the Great Recession created new needs but unfortunately, there are people in need every year,” said Samantha Scott, APR, PTE president. “We are grateful for the like-minded people and businesses that joined us for this important campaign, helping ensure individuals and families in our community have food resources this holiday season.”
Giving back to the community is an integral part of Pushing the Envelope’s company culture. The firm plans to host the campaign again in 2022, marking 12 years of helping feed the hungry in Southwest Florida.
