I had a great experience interning at Pushing the Envelope. I have learned so much in such a short time. I have written news releases, media alerts, blogs, conducted research for campaigns and developed content for social media calendars. I had four primary clients that I was involved with- Six Bends, CRS Technology, CPR Tools and the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida.
The highlight for me of working at PTE would have to be working with Six Bends. I helped out with a number of special events that they were planning. I wrote news releases, media alerts and I even got to submit my work to the online newsrooms for the public to see. I learned how to submit a news release to news rooms. I had no idea how much work went into submitting them. I learned a lot more about what should be in the news releases and the format of how they are supposed to be written.
I learned that there is a lot more to marketing than I thought there would be. There is a lot of marketing research that takes place before the events take place at Six Bends. I have learned a lot more about how to go in and research something that is very new to me. I loved when I was assigned to help Six Bends with their social media and how to construct content to post everyday. It blows my mind how much work goes into the business of social media channels.
All in all, I had a great experience and learned a lot at PTE. They are a great company to intern for when you’re in college and wanting public relations and marketing experience before graduating. Interning at Pushing the Envelope was a great way for me to learn more about the communication industry before I graduate. I cannot thank PTE enough for giving me this amazing experience.
