The Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) Alumni Association named Samantha Scott, APR, president of Pushing the Envelope, Inc., its 2022 Alumna of Distinction, their most prestigious award.
Each year, the alumni association’s Board of Directors recognizes one distinguished graduate who has upheld the tradition of excellence through personal accomplishment, professional achievement, or humanitarian service. The FGCU Alumni Association will celebrate Scott among other award recipients and nominees at an awards dinner on Friday, February 11, 2022.
“I am honored to receive this esteemed award,” said Scott. “I consider FGCU to be a university that strives to impact more than just its students, but our community and beyond. As a proud alum, I am privileged to live out this principle.”
Scott is also an honorary member of FGCU’s Soaring Eagles Society, another alumni recognition. Acknowledged in the community and the marketing communications industry, Scott has been honored by both Gulfshore Business and Business Observer in their separate 40 under 40 awards, received the Uncommon Friends Ethics Award in 2017, was named the Public Relations Professional of the Year in 2015 by the Florida Public Relations Association SWFL Chapter, and with the PTE team has won more than 35 industry awards. Scott believes strongly in giving back and helping others. As such, she gives of her time as a board member for several organizations, including the FGCU Foundation Board of Directors, Gulf Coast Humane Society, and Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, and more.
